ABOUT THE MUD ROOM
The Mud Room first opened in 1996 in Ada, and was one of the first paint-your-own pottery studios in Michigan! In 2016 the studio moved to the centrally-located Knapp’s Corner shopping area of Grand Rapids.
The studio offers adults and kids of all ages a fun and relaxed space to be creative! And it’s no longer just a pottery painting studio. As the studio has grown, new creative offerings have been added and include DIY wood signs, potter’s wheel classes, glass fusing, and other events. No experience is needed and our helpful staff will make anyone feel like an artist.

Hello! I’m Rachel, and I purchased the company in 1999 after working for the studio part-time. Long-time customers may remember seeing me in the studio every single day, but now I spend most of my time working behind the scenes - supporting our team, finding and developing new projects for customers, and growing the business!
