KIDS BIRTHDAY Parties & Events
Please understand that we need accurate information about your event to adequately staff the studio and schedule other events before/after yours. If any information changes at any time, contact us right away so we can better serve both you and our other studio guests.
By hosting a birthday or kids’ party at The Mud Room, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
NUMBER OF GUESTS
•Party Packages are available for parties of up to 16 kids (12 for the Potter’s Wheel), ages 7-16. For other age groups and larger size parties, you may choose an Art a la Carte party.
•Due to space restrictions, please limit adult helpers to yourself and 1 or 2 others. We reserve the right to charge $10/person for additional guests in attendance beyond this, even if they are not painting. If the studio is at capacity, we may also be required to ask non-participating guests to leave the studio in order to ensure the safety of our guests and allow our staff to do their jobs effectively.
•Confirm the final number of guests in your group at least one week in advance so we can arrange adequate seating for your party.
•A $50 deposit is required to guarantee your reservation for any PARTY PACKAGE. It will be deducted from your bill at the party, but is non-refundable if you cancel or do not show up. For your convenience, deposits can be paid online, in person or over the phone.
•A Reservation fee of $25 per table or $50 for the Party Room will guarantee your reservation for any ART A LA CARTE party. Our staff will be happy to assist you in selecting the best option for your group. Reservation fees will not be applied towards your pottery or glass project purchases.
•If you would like to guarantee additional studio time/space for food/gifts for an Art a la Carte party, please pay the $50 Party Room Rental at the time you secure your reservation.
•You will be responsible for picking up all fired projects and distributing them to your guests. Don’t worry… we’ll sort, bag and label each child’s piece so it’s easy for you! Please do not ask parents to pick up pieces separately.
•Pottery and Glass projects will be ready to pick up in approximately one week; Clay and Wheel pots will be ready in two weeks. Canvas artwork will be taken home the same day.
•Please pick up projects within 30 days of your pickup due date. Your pickup date will be given to you at checkout and printed on your receipt when you pay for your projects.
Occasionally our staff may take photos of guests and/or their creations. By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, you also give The Mud Room permission to photograph any attendees at your party or their artwork, and the right to use, publish, reproduce and disseminate any photograph or other likeness of any guests or artwork obtained in connection with your visit to the studio without pay or compensation to you, your child, or any guests attending.
•PARTY PACKAGE prices include projects, glazing and firing (if applicable), and use of our semi-private Party Room for up to 16 guests (or our Wheel Studio for up to 12 guests).
•For ART A LA CARTE parties, pottery and glass projects are priced individually. You may reserve a table in our studio for $25 or our semi-private Party Room for $50.
•STUDIO RENTAL for additional time/space at the studio: If you are choosing Art a la Carte and would like to bring food and/or gifts, please rent the Party Room. (Time for food/gifts and use of the Party Room is already included in the price of our Party Packages). We also reserve the right to charge an additional $25 Studio Rental fee for each half hour any party goes beyond the reserved time.
•SALES TAX is not included.
FOOD & DRINKS
•Cake or snacks, drinks, and gifts are allowed in the Party Room. We have a counter to set food/gifts aside while the kids are creating. After the creative part is over, food/gifts will be brought to your table.
•All Party Package prices include a half hour to use the Party Room for food and/or gifts. If you choose the Art a la Carte option, please reserve the Party Room if you would like more than one hour and/or would like to bring food and gifts.
USE OF STUDIO SPACE
•If your party is scheduled during Open Studio Hours, we will be open to the public for other guests while your event is going on. If your party is before/after our Open Studio Hours your group’s purchases of pottery, glass, or other projects must total at least $250. This minimum must be reached before any sales tax or additional reservation fees are applied.
•Balloons and themed paper supplies are ok, but large decorations and party games are not. If you bring goody bags please pass them out to the guests as they are leaving. Noisemakers, sticky candy, confetti and the like are not appropriate in a pottery and glass studio environment.
•Expect to spend about 1 hour painting pottery or making fused glass. Clay, potters wheel and canvas activities take about 1½ hours. If you choose to have cake and gifts at the studio, that usually takes about a half hour. The time for all of this is included in our Party Package prices and time guidelines.
•Actual time needed may vary based on the size of your group and the ages of the guests. Our experienced staff will determine the appropriate amount of time for your group when you request a reservation. Requests for parties longer than these guidelines must be approved by a manager.
•Parties may be held outside of our Open Studio hours if you are expecting 10+ guests.
•Your group’s purchases of pottery, glass, or other projects must total at least $250. This minimum must be reached before any sales tax or additional reservation fees are applied.
